As many of Uptight's gowns can be non traditional, it can be hard to find a grooms outfit to match, so having something made by a tailor who know what the wedding gown will be like from the start, is a big help in getting a grooms outfit to compliment it perfectly. So whether it be a simple suit in an usual colour, or a full on 18th century frock coat and breeches with gold work embroidery, with a wealth of knowledge and piles of reference books, Wendy can guide you to the perfect style for you.

All corsets and gowns are completely designed and made to order individually for each client, all clients deal exclusively with the designer, Janice Whitehorn, from the initial consultation, fittings and finishes, dealing with you personally, all the way.

Each gown is unique, and made from luxurious fabrics, often decorated with beautiful hand embroidery, appliqué, and beadwork. The dresses vary from outrageous, theatrical, fairytale creations to those with simple fluid lines and a concealed corset for a glamorous silhouette.

Bless The Bride was established in 1989. We are situated in Dunstable town centre with a large 1st floor premises that include a spacious showroom & changing areas. The shop has been under new ownership since January 2001, and is now run by Sharon and Jean, a daughter and mother team.

We aim to make every bride look and feel special on her big day . All alterations are carried out on site by our experienced dressmaker. Wedding dresses and accessories can be stored free of charge at the shop until the day before your wedding.

When your bridal gown has been decided upon, your thoughts must turn to the bridesmaids. How old are they? What style will match the gown? What style will suit the maids? What colour and material? Help is at hand!
